FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla., July 13, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Innova Holdings, Inc. (OTCBB:IVHG), an automation technology company providing hardware and software systems-based solutions to the service, personal, and industrial robotic markets, announces today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Robotic Workspace Technologies, Inc. (RWT(tm)) has been awarded a multi-phase contract by NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) to provide control systems for robotic mechanisms that are planned for a future mission to the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). The contract comprises two phases and specifies the company's Universal Robot Controller(tm) (URC(tm)). Details of the transaction were not disclosed.
"This contract award is the result of our years of experience in the aerospace industry working with customers like Lockheed," says Walter Weisel, Chairman and CEO of both Innova and RWT, "and the proven reliability and advanced capability of our Universal Robot Controller installed in mission critical applications at customers' facilities. This contract award enables us to leverage our proven patented technology to provide our vital hardware and software products for NASA's mission critical efforts."
About the Universal Robot Controller
The URC is the world's first open architecture PC controller designed specifically for industrial robots and other automated devices. It replaces the original OEM robot controller to provide the state-of-the-art in open PC automation control to support the integration of multiple devices like end-of-arm tooling, parts feeders, sensors, and other automated equipment. It can also serve as a higher-level supervisory control. The URC is programmed using the RobotScript(r) programming language, which was also developed by RWT. RobotScript is a derivative of Microsoft's Visual Basic and provides an industry-standard programming environment.
The URC is operating a variety of ABB, Fanuc, Cincinnati Milacron, Kawasaki, and Yaskawa Motoman robots used in North America at Fortune 100 companies like Bayer, Johnson Controls, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, Oak Ridge National Laboratories, and Tier 1 automotive manufacturing plants. Most customers of this revolutionary controller placed subsequent orders. The URC is covered by two (2) United States patents with others filed and a third soon to be issued.
