LONG BEACH, Calif., July 20, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- On Friday, July 22, Marine life artist Wyland continues his campaign to raise awareness about protecting coastal resources with an appearance at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. In partnership with the California Coastal Commission, Surfrider Foundation, and American Zoo and Aquarium Association, the artist has created "Water's Extreme Journey," a 1,000-square foot interactive maze that follows a clean drop of water through mountains, rivers, city streets, storm drains, into the ocean. The artist will also join children and adults to create a 600-square foot water-themed mosaic, and participate in clean water science experiments. As part of his swing through the Southland, the artist is conducting beach cleanups with the Surfrider Foundation. The program is in the second year of a 5-year plan to cleanup coasts and waterways around the world, and inspire environmental action.
