The feature article with the caption "Building a Niche: Company Adds Flavor" appeared in the September 22, 2005 edition of the Riverside, California-based newspaper, which is widely read throughout the Inland Empire area of Southern California.
The article discussed the efforts of Nationwide to take on the "giants" of the beverage industry by focusing upon mountain spring water, both in its pure form and in enhanced versions. Steve Rice, President of the Company, is quoted in the article as saying, "Water is the fastest growing segment of the beverage industry and enhanced water with flavors, vitamins and minerals are growing at an even faster pace."
The article also quoted Gary Hemphill, Managing Director of Beverage Marketing, a beverage industry research and consulting firm as saying, "...bottled water has leapfrogged over coffee, beer and milk in sales, trailing only carbonated soft drinks."
