Feintool Automation displays innovative new products at Motek in Sinsheim

Cost pressure from Asia and eastern Europe is forcing western European industry in particular to increase the extent and efficiency of automation in subassembly and finished product manufacturing. At the same time, however, quality requirements are generating strong demand for hybrid semiautomated manufacturing systems in the so-called low-wage countries. With its interesting innovations, Feintool Automation will be offering ideal solutions at Motek.

Flexible linear transfer and rotary indexing systems
The lead time between a customer awarding a production order and start-up of the automated facilities needed to manufacture the order is shrinking. Furthermore, investments have to be amortized over ever-smaller batches within a wide range of variants. Feintool Automation's clictec and modutec systems provide ideal solutions to widely varying needs.
clictec, a compact rotary indexing system for the automated assembly of small and ultrasmall parts at high cycle rates, has plug-in modules that reduce refitting times to a minimum. The modutec family of linear transfer systems comprises flexible, modular assembly systems made up of standardized elements for the reliable assembly of medium-sized to large components. Both systems are used mainly for the low-cost assembly of complex subassemblies for the automotive industry.

The "red" automation components from Afag Huttwil
The efficiency of automation systems and special-purpose machinery is particularly dependent on intelligent use and on the performance capabilities and reliable functioning of the components used in them. Afag will be displaying its PS precision slide, the next step in the evolution of the linear modules that it has been continuously enhancing for over 30 years. Designers thus have a complete range of building blocks at their disposal for reliable automation solutions, from the ultracompact minimodule to the rigid long-stroke slide. All components have been carefully designed to interact perfectly and both pneumatic and electrical versions of each are available. A further highlight on the Afag stand will be its innovative, CNC-manufactured, helical conveyor. The extensive product range can be ordered by catalogue or from Afag's Internet e-shop.

BalTec, number one in riveting systems
BalTec will be spotlighting new, cost-effective applications for radial riveting. Monitoring the riveting process using autocompensation technology offers various benefits, including reduced reject costs, the option of using cheaper components, simpler integration into automation systems and lower inspection costs before and after assembly manufacturing. BalTec will be presenting an innovation in the form of a high-speed NC-coordinate riveting system. The system's speed and simple touch screen-based operator interface and visualization increases the user's competitiveness.
