Linda Blair to Build Dog Houses at 'NBC Humanity Plaza'

Actress to be Joined by 20 NYC High School Students in Building Dog Houses to be Donated to Families With Pets in Slidell, LA


NEW YORK, Sept. 28, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Since Monday, New Yorkers have donated over 109 cedar, insulated dog houses to Noah's Wish as a result of the NBC News "Make a Difference Today" week-long campaign at 30 Rockefeller Plaza to construct homes for families displaced by Katrina. On Thursday, September 29, 2005, legendary actress Linda Blair will be joined by New York City high school students in the construction of the dog houses. All this week, NBC executives, celebrities and New Yorkers have joined together in the building of houses for people and dogs. Every house that is donated will go directly to a family who was affected by this disaster.

 What:      Photo Op with Linda Blair, NYC High School Students and
            Noah's Wish as 115 dog houses are built and prepared to be
            shipped to Slidell, LA.

Noah's Wish arrived in Slidell, Louisiana immediately after Katrina devastated the city and has been working tirelessly with Slidell Animal Control to rescue and shelter pets left behind. Over 800 animals are being cared for at the Noah's Wish temporary shelter. The donated dog houses will be distributed by Noah's Wish and Animal Control to residents who are able to return to their homes and also will be provided to dogs who are adopted into loving new homes.
