STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Oct. 5, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Skanska Infrastructure Development will be the new name of Skanska BOT, Skanska's business unit for the investment in and development of social infrastructure such as hospitals, schools and transport facilities.
The new name is effective as of today and intended to better reflect the purpose of the business. It should also eliminate any confusion between the term BOT and others such as PFI, PPP, OPS and DBFO.
"Our role in making and managing investments in Public Private Partnerships (PPP) will continue, building on and deepening relationships with our customers, internal and external partners and other key stakeholders," says Simon Hipperson, President of Skanska Infrastructure Development.
The company has regional offices in U.K., U.S., the Nordic Region and Latin America and will soon also be represented in Central Eastern Europe.
To date, the business unit has a portfolio of 17 projects, with a committed capital investment of SEK 3.1 billion, generating construction projects totalling SEK 55 billion and operational contracts valued at SEK 1 billion per annum.
Skanska Infrastructure Development's executive management team consists of Simon Hipperson, President, Peter Wallin, Chief Financial Officer, Graham Olver, Commercial and Operations Director and Jeanette Broberg, Director of HR.
The regional team includes Alan Gillman, Executive Vice President U.K., Gunnar Lundberg, EVP Nordic Region, Bill Horwitz, EVP Latin America and Magnus Andersson acting EVP in the U.S. The team will soon be joined by two new EVPs, for the U.S. and Central Eastern Europe.
