PLYMOUTH, Mich., Oct. 20, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Auto-Lab Franchise Management Corporation, a 24-unit chain of auto service stores that provide bumper-to-bumper vehicle service using the latest in diagnostic technology, named Frank Brandenberg, a resident of Northville and veteran executive of global high technology companies, as president.
The 17-year-old Auto-Lab, headquartered here just west of Detroit, was purchased by a group of investors last year.
Brandenberg, a native of Detroit and graduate of Wayne State University where he earned a bachelor of science and master's degree of science in industrial engineering, currently is the chairman of Kemet Corporation, a South Carolina manufacturer of electronic components such as tantalum capacitors, multi-layer ceramic capacitors and solid aluminum capacitors.
Until his retirement in 2003, he was corporate vice president and sector president of the Northrop Grumman Corporation where he managed a portfolio of high technology global companies including Poly Scientific, Synopics, Winchester Electronics, Kester Solder, VEAM International. Airtron, Litton Interconnect Technology. He also is a member of the board of directors for the Kester Corporation.
He also has served as an officer of a number of global high technology companies such as Unisys Corp., EA Industries, and Litton Industries.
Besides Wayne State, Brandenberg also is a graduate of the Harvard School of Business where he completed the program for management development.
Auto-Lab currently has 24 vehicle service diagnostic centers in Michigan and recently announced an agreement to place another 59 units in the Greater Chicago area.
