U.S. Acquisition Strengthens Trelleborg in Precision Aerospace Seals


STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Oct. 25, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Through its Trelleborg Sealing Solutions business area, Trelleborg has signed an agreement to acquire the operations of Chase-Walton Elastomers Inc., which has annual sales of approximately SEK 100 M and about 110 employees at two production units in Hudson, Massachusetts, in the U.S.

Chase-Walton Elastomers designs, develops and manufactures silicone components for industrial markets, primarily for the aerospace, medical technology and biotech industries. Chase-Walton is privately owned and was founded in 1955.

"With the acquisition of Chase-Walton, we are strengthening our position in important market segments with favorable growth potential," says Claus Barsoee, President of the Trelleborg Sealing Solutions business area. ``We are also expanding our coverage of the US market. The company has in-depth expertise and experience in silicone technology and its operations complement and extend our product portfolio in an excellent manner."

Chase-Walton Elastomers Inc. is to be integrated fully with Trelleborg Sealing Solutions' existing global operations. The formal takeover of the business is estimated to become effective on October 27, 2005.
