TAGH is one of Sri Lanka's most prestigious hotel properties, and the new WiFi service allows TAGH a unified billing system in which guests pay one connection fee and are free to access the Internet from anywhere on TAGH's 37-acre grounds.
"Due to the size of the Taj's property, our billing system has to support users while they essentially 'roam' the grounds with their wireless devices," said Sanjay Singh, general manager of TAGH. "The pool and the gymnasium are away from the main building, and the Harbour Bar is situated by the side of the Lagoon. Our challenge was to provide an easy billing system where guests could pay once, have one user ID, and make unlimited use of our amenities."
TAGH caters to corporate and leisure travelers, as well as to airline crews of most major carriers that operate out of BIA. The Taj is also home to many long-term expatriate guests, many of whom are engaged in the Katunayake Free Trade Zone (FTZ). TAGH also hosts numerous seminars, conventions and weddings-all in meeting halls with capacities above 1000.
