Jean-Louis Laurens (51) has been appointed head of Robeco France as of 1 February 2006. Before joining Robeco he worked for AXA Investment Managers. He succeeds Francois Guillaume who will continue his professional career outside Robeco.
As head of Robeco France Mr. Laurens will be responsible for institutional asset management, Robeco funds managed in Paris, third-party distribution and banking activities. Mr. Laurens is a well known seasoned professional in the French financial industry. As of 1999 he held various positions within AXA Investments Managers, most recently as CEO of AXA IM Paris, deputy Group CEO and global head of Sales and Marketing. Prior to AXA Mr. Laurens worked for Dresdner Kleinwort Benson as CEO of the French operations, and held various positions in the Morgan Stanley and HSBC groups. He was a member of the Executive Committee and Board of the French Asset Managers Association (AFG) and a member of the Advisory Committee (Commission Consultative de la Gestion Financière) of the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF), the French capital-markets and asset-management regulator. The appointment is subject to the regulatory approval.
