Advanced Control Systems Supplies Substation Systems for Oklahoma Gas & Electric

ATLANTA, Feb. 23, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Advanced Control Systems (ACS) announced the successful commissioning of 10 substation integration/automation systems for Oklahoma Gas & Electric Services (OG&E). Since 2002, Advanced Control Systems has successfully delivered more than five-dozen systems to OG&E, supporting a wide range of requirements.

OG&E selected Advanced Control Systems due to their advanced technology offering, rapid delivery capabilities, and competitive pricing. Scott Milanowski, (Senior Project Leader/Technology Transfer, Electric Services) at OG&E stated, "Advanced Control Systems has proven to us that they are committed to meeting the long-term system needs here at OG&E. Their solution provided a migration path to upgrade our substation automation systems while providing significant savings in installation labor over conventional replacement methods."

Each OG&E project uses ACS substation systems configured for specific requirements, but all of them employ the ACS upgrade strategy of enhancing substations with powerful intelligence, while maintaining in-place wiring and terminations. Labor savings alone make this an attractive path for utilities that want to augment substation capabilities without incurring substantial manpower expenses. Thanks to this proven approach, OG&E Electric Services is replacing older Siemens/Landis & Gyr and General Electric/Harris systems with solutions from Advanced Control Systems.

Chuck Newton, president and CEO of research advisory firm Newton-Evans remarked, "In following the market for many years, I've known Advanced Control Systems to be a consistently reliable partner to its customers. It's good to see an industry leader in many categories -- like ACS -- making a deliberate move into the investor-owned market and delivering for a leader like Oklahoma Gas & Electric."

Dave Moore, president of Advanced Control Systems remarked, "Our experience with Oklahoma Gas & Electric and many other large investor-owned utilities is extremely exciting for us. We've served many of the nation's premier cooperatives and public power entities for more than 30 years. Never in our history have we failed to complete a contracted systems delivery. It's a record we are very proud of, and we are bringing that reputation with us as we focus on the IOU market in 2006."

Advanced Control Systems now counts more than ten leading investor-owned utilities as customers -- a figure that has doubled in the past 10 months.
