Nayna Networks Announces Mobile Link Solution

STM-1 Optical Links for New Cellular Applications Lowers Recurring Costs

SANTA CLARA, Calif. and MUMBAI, India, May 24, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Nayna Networks, Inc. (OTCBB:NAYN), a provider of next generation network solutions, today announced the availability of a very cost effective STM-1 solution that can link mobile cell sites to the Mobile operators' core Switching Office (MSO), in traffic backhaul applications.

One of the biggest cost challenges for mobile operators is management of backhaul links that connect cell-sites to the switching office. Mobile operators often lease on a monthly basis traditional E1/T1 links to backhaul traffic. Compared to existing multiple E1 solutions on copper with limited reach and prone to interference, the use of next generation SDH optical communication with much higher capacity such as STM-1 helps operators squeeze growing traffic into optical backhaul links to reduce recurring monthly lease costs while at the same time providing additional capacity with less interference.

Nayna's new solution is a cost effective SDH Mux that can aggregate E1s and Ethernet interfaces onto an optical STM-1 to increase capacity for traffic backhaul for GSM and CDMA cellular networks.

Nayna's announcement is in anticipation of increasing demand for SDH equipment in GSM and CDMA networks within India. India's largest carrier, BSNL, has floated a tender for 45.5 million GSM/UMTS lines due on May 31, 2006 and the other carriers in India are also on the look out for the same.

The highlights of the Nayna AN 3000Lite based solution are:

-- Very compact size -- 1 RU (1.75 inches) Box
-- Works directly off of 230 V AC thereby eliminating -48 V DC
    converters
-- Cost effective turn key solution for 4 Ethernet and 8 E1s
    interfaces
-- Next generation equipment that can be remotely managed for reduced
    labor costs
-- Conforms to ITU-T recommendations for a high degree of
    interoperability
-- Temperature hardened system that can be deployed in harsh
    environments
-- High reliability solid state design (all fans, etc., eliminated)
-- Designed for the wireless backhaul environment

"Nayna has been working jointly with service providers and channel partners to perfect this mobile link solution," said Jim Connor, director of marketing, Nayna Networks. "It is a flexible and compact solution that provides an affordable traffic backhaul method which reduces operating costs."
