LOS ANGELES, June 12, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Hotels, health clubs, schools and other organizations can reap summertime savings by purchasing energy-efficient pool heaters and receiving thousands of dollars in rebates from Southern California Gas Co. (The Gas Company).
"Heating a commercial pool can be a significant expense, but replacing an old pool heater with an energy-efficient model may cut pool heating costs by 10 percent to 20 percent or more," said Mark Gaines, The Gas Company's director of customer programs. "And when you add in our rebates of up to $4,000 for each qualifying pool heater, it's easy to see why pool operators are enrolling in this program."
In addition to providing savings, energy efficiency helps the environment and reduces strain on energy supplies, Gaines said. Also, since energy efficiency reduces overall energy demand, it helps limit energy prices.
The Gas Company's rebates are part of the utility's expanded energy-efficiency programs that encourage customers to save money and help the environment. These programs offer rebates and incentives of as much as $525,000 per qualifying business customer per year.
