Rapid Dating President Believes TV Dating Shows Create More Fear for Singles

LOS ANGELES, June 16, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Renee Piane, President of Rapid Dating and an internationally known dating and love coach, says, "Many of the new dating advice shows actually generate more fear and depression, inadvertently creating the strong belief that love is unattainable for many singles."

After facilitating hundreds of Rapid Dating events since 2001, Piane understands the challenges faced by singles and has dedicated her life to changing the negative programming people have about single life.

"Most shows lack the depth of what is truly experienced by singles as well as the inspirational solutions many great love coaches and singles services like Rapid Dating provide. I've always felt it was my mission to remove the stereotyping and negative perspectives that can dominate the media as in shows like ABC's 'How to Get the Guy'," says Piane.

"Although the show was entertaining and often insightful, I was very disappointed in how the show misrepresented the types of clients who attend real Rapid Dating events," she continued. "It is unfortunate how much of a disservice this kind of show is to me and companies like mine."

Rapid Dating offers "real" results from real people who care and are knowledgeable. It provides a "power tool" for meeting and networking, giving like-minded individuals an entertaining way to expand their dating and social skills in a safe and proactive atmosphere. Events are filled with professional singles who are actively taking control of their love lives.

"The results are amazing," Piane continued. "We find that people are connecting for love, business and friendship. We receive notes of appreciation daily from participants who are very happy with the quality people they have met."

Singles will always search for a fun way to meet others without the pressure of long dates. With Rapid Dating, singles meet targeted 'dates' face-to-face in less than two hours, and can gain a better understanding of whether they have a connection or not. In this high-tech, low-touch society, people need social interaction and ways to connect in order to overcome loneliness.

"I would not have been in business for 6 years if it didn't work," adds Piane.

Piane has appeared on more than 35 national shows and in national newspapers offering her inspirational dating advice. She has taught singles seminars for 15 years, and has coached and matched thousands of daters for dating and marriage in their 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s; and each generation has its own set of dating rules and challenges.

Piane is the author of "Love Mechanics," is a Podcasts producer and a columnist. She has been featured in The Wall Street Journal as one of the premier resources for singles in America, as well as on "The Today Show," CNN, "The Other Half" and NBC. A guest on countless radio shows around the globe, her insights have been quoted in Cosmopolitan, Men's Health, Newsday, The Los Angeles Times and The New York Daily News.

Piane's work is reflected in her own true 'Love Story': while launching a Rapid Dating event back East, she reconnected with an acquaintance from her high school days and is now happily married. Piane says, "Being married inspires my clients to believe in love even more, and I will continue to spread the message."
