SANTA ANA, Calif., July 19, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Landmark Services, in association with Goodwill of Orange County, announces UCI Medical Center as a new account in 2006. Landmark now provides document destruction services to Orange County's largest hospital.
Landmark Services picks up documents from UCI twice a week and visits other clinic locations in Santa Ana, Irvine, Anaheim and Westminster on a weekly basis. The documents are then brought to the Landmark Services building for proper shredding and disposal.
"It is a legal requirement that most company documents are properly disposed, and without proper disposal, proprietary information ends up in the dumpster where it is readily, and legally, available to anyone," said Dan Rogers, president and CEO of Goodwill of Orange County. "We are thrilled to be able to help UCI Medical Center with such a critical service."
"Our contract with Landmark Services is a win-win situation," said Kerby Mellott, senior director of general services for UCI Medical Center. "We are saving a tremendous amount of money without sacrificing high-quality service, and Goodwill can provide even more jobs and training for individuals with disabilities."
Professional destruction - as opposed to doing it internally- ensures that the information will remain confidential, and with 45 percent of all paper in North America being recycled, confidential documents must be professionally destroyed to maintain confidentiality. Document destruction prevents companies from incurring penalties, bad publicity, and expensive lawsuits.
