LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., Oct. 3, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Golden Patriot, Corp. ("Golden Patriot") (OTCBB:GPTC) (Frankfurt:GPU) is extremely pleased to announce that it has been informed by the operator that drilling has now commenced on the Lucky Boy Prospect. The major 25-holed drill program has commenced and the operator expects the drill program will take approximately two weeks to complete, at which time the ore will be sent to the laboratories for assaying. Assay results will take approximately 3-6 weeks.
The drill program was increased to 25 holes due to an additional positive evaluation of the MMI samples. Golden Patriot recently received Government and State approval of the 'Plan of Operations' for a multi-hole drill program on the past-producing Lucky Boy Uranium Mine in Gila County, Arizona. The Plan of Operations includes: road construction, drill pad construction as well as a multi-hole drill program for approximately 6,000-plus foot. Golden Patriot has increased its land position on this past-producing uranium mine to now include 26 BLM claims.
Mr. Brad Rudman, President of Golden Patriot states, "It is very exciting to be commencing operations on the past-producing Lucky Boy Prospect. This is the news that Golden Patriot's shareholders and management have been waiting for. With Uranium prices over $50/pound and the increasing need for more nuclear power plants to supply the world's energy needs, Golden Patriot feels it is well-positioned to take advantage of this need if we prove out our resources on our Lucky Boy past producing Uranium property."
Golden Patriot has interests in mineral properties involving uranium and gold mining. As it stands, Golden Patriot is one of the smallest market capitalized companies that has interests in any present or past producing uranium mines.
