SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- December 18, 2006 -- Today, the Emetrics Summit announced the
date and call for papers for its west coast presentation of "The Big
Picture." Earlier this year, the Emetrics Summit in Washington D.C.
attracted more than 450 marketing and web analytics professionals from the
top brands across the country seeking to optimize their online processes
and marketing goals. The San Francisco event, May 6-9, 2007, aims to build
upon the lessons learned and provide a big-picture view of optimizing
online marketing value and impacting overall marketing value and business
objectives.
The Emetrics Summit conference series began in 2002 and was primarily
focused on web analytics. Over the years, the focus of the conference has
evolved along with the industry as organizations have begun to realize the
significance of web marketing across all of their business initiatives.
Analytics are playing an increasingly important role in online marketing,
allowing marketers and advertisers to communicate with their customers in a
more relevant and timely fashion. They also allow companies to measure the
success of their online presences and map their efforts to overall business
values.
Jim Sterne, president of the Web Analytics Association (WAA) and organizer
of the Emetrics Summit, has been receiving extremely positive feedback from
the D.C. conference attendees. "There are lot of people who come to the
Emetrics Summit, open the kimono and share a lot of what they are doing --
best practices, what works and what doesn't -- and that makes this
conference so much more valuable," said Avinash Kaushik, director for web
research and analytics at Intuit and expert web analytics blogger at
kaushik.net/avinash.
"This is the most intelligent set of speakers and questions from the
audience I've ever seen at a conference," commented Mike Moran,
Distinguished Engineer, IBM Software Group. Another attendee, Kristin
Findley, manager of website measurement at Ameriprise, said, "I wish my
boss was here!"
In light of the strong attendee response, The Emetrics Summit is offering a
special "Bring the Whole Team" discount on registration for the San
Francisco event. Attendees from the same company registered at the same
time will receive $200 off the cost of registration. Sterne has also
opened the call for papers and is seeking forward-thinking speaker
proposals that clearly tie back to business value and provide actionable
insight for attendees. Case studies are strongly encouraged.
Show sponsors include Optimost, WebTrends, Omniture, WebSideStory, Google
Analytics and DoubleClick and more. For more information on registration
