Kristin H. Holth (51) has been appointed new head of DnB NOR's New York branch. She is currently section head in the bank's Shipping Division, where she is in charge of Offshore Oslo and Advisory, and will assume her new position in August 2007. Kristin Holth is a graduate of BI Norwegian School of Management, and has worked in the DnB NOR Group throughout her professional career, including at the bank's London branch and as head of the Shipping Division's Oslo office. She is also head of the government-appointed committee MARUT, which provides advice to the minister of Trade and Industry in formulating a national maritime strategy. "DnB NOR's branch in New York has a central position in the Group's international strategy, and I look forward to meeting the challenge of heading our activities on the American continent," says Kristin Holth. The branch in New York was established in 1980, and the majority of its clients are companies within shipping, offshore, logistics and energy, in addition to Scandinavian companies with operations in the US. DnB NOR also opened a representative office in Houston in 2006 and has a total of just over 70 employees in the US. Truls Nergaard, the current head of DnB NOR New York, has completed his period in the US and is returning to DnB NOR in Norway.
