ATLANTA, March 26, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- LXE Inc. announced today that Sybase iAnywhere has become a certified LXE RFID Integration Partner.
The objective of the LXE RFID Integration Partner Certification program is to develop partners that are qualified to provide integrated solutions that utilize LXE rugged mobile RFID readers and Spire(r) RX antennas to RFID-enable warehouse operations.
Sybase iAnywhere, a market leader in RFID and mobile technologies, achieved the LXE RFID Integration Partner status when it incorporated support for LXE's vehicle-mounted RFID readers in their latest release of its RFID Anywhere(tm).
Using the Sybase iAnywhere RFID software infrastructure, customers will be able to rapidly develop, deploy and manage mobile RFID warehouse applications that leverage LXE's rugged mobile RFID readers. RFID Anywhere further benefits customers by providing a comprehensive infrastructure that enables the integration of business logic and processes with a variety of automatic data collection and sensor technologies -- consistent with LXE's vision for ARIA.
ARIA (Adaptive Recognition and Information Assurance) is a framework for achieving new levels of efficiency, velocity, visibility and accuracy in supply chain execution. ARIA combines the strengths of multiple technologies, such as RFID, voice recognition, sensors and wearable computing with next generation software applications and new business processes so that warehouse operators can execute warehouse transactions more naturally, efficiently and effectively.
Operations that can be RFID-enabled with RFID Anywhere and the RX2 rugged vehicle-mounted RFID reader include shipping, receiving, pallet-picking and pallet put-aways. With RFID Anywhere and LXE's RX2 RFID reader, customers will see:
* Increased check-in speed & accuracy. * Faster, more accurate put-aways & full pallet picks. * Quicker, more accurate order staging.
"Sybase iAnywhere has clearly demonstrated that they have what it takes to become a Certified LXE RFID Integration Partner," said Ed Krueger, LXE's manager of business development. "We are very impressed with the work they have done to support LXE mobile RFID readers in the RFID Anywhere infrastructure. Furthermore, with their ability to add location awareness and business intelligence to the sensor network, their infrastructure is consistent with LXE's vision for ARIA."
"Mobile RFID readers offer a number of potential benefits including lower costs, wider applicability in the warehouse, and greater flexibility and scalability. These benefits, however, can not be achieved without robust hardware and software," said Martyn Mallick, director of RFID technologies at Sybase iAnywhere. "LXE is a leader in forklift-mounted wireless computers. The combination of RFID Anywhere software and LXE's vehicle-mounted RFID readers and voice-enabled mobile computers provides a great solution for customers looking to improve operational efficiencies."
LXE will be exhibiting a RX2 vehicle-mounted RFID reader managed by RFID Anywhere, from Sybase iAnywhere in booth #910 at the RFID World Conference on March 26-28, at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Dallas, Texas.
