Collax Demos Oracle Database On Its Solution Platform

Oracle 10g XE On the Collax Solution Platform Can Provide Cost-efficient, Quickly Deployable, Easy-to-use Database for SMBs

BEDFORD, Mass., March 28, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Last week, Collax integrated the freely available Linux version of Oracle's 10g XE database into its Collax Solution Platform for a demonstration at CeBIT in Hannover, Germany. The result is a server-based database solution that makes it possible to render web-based applications run-capable quickly and without programming skills.

Thanks to Oracle's APEX technology, data from a range of different sources, such as Excel spreadsheets or Access databases, can be consolidated into the 10g XE with just a few mouse clicks and is then immediately available for evaluation. This solution thus permits rapid set-up of a central database from data stored at decentralized locations which can then be used for data evaluation, forum set-up, online shops and document management.

"The 10g XE running on the Collax Solution Platform is a milestone in our ISV strategy," said Bertram Mandel, VP Sales and Marketing at Collax. "This preconfigured, out-of-the-box solution was ready to run in an extremely short time thanks to support from Oracle, which demonstrates just how quickly ISVs can integrate their solutions into the Collax Solution Platform."

About the database solution

Oracle's 10g XE database can run on an updated version of the Collax Solution Platform, which is based on the 2.6 core with an AJAX-enabled graphical user interface. In conjunction with APEX, this database solution offers both a server- and a development-platform simultaneously. APEX Administration is web-based and provides a complete framework including navigation control, security concept, and reports, forms and graphics. Combined, this database-platform permits operation without programming skills required.
