Military Retirees Catch Entrepreneurial Spirit at Marco's Pizza, Veterans to Open Stores in VA., Atlanta, Oklahoma

TOLEDO, OH -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 24, 2007 -- Marco's Franchising, LLC, the franchising arm for Marco's Pizza, the 27-year-old Toledo-based chain, thinks the military is the "perfect" training ground for potential franchises and has announced that three veterans will be opening Marco's Pizza stores in Virginia, Atlanta and Oklahoma.

According to Jack Butorac, Jr., president of Marco's Franchising, LLC, who announced the expansion, there are some definite parallels between being an entrepreneur and franchisee, and the military.

Veterans who will be opening Marco's Pizza stores include:

-- Ferdinand Gozum, a native of the Philippines, is a retired Major in
the U.S. Air Force. He will be opening a Marco's Pizza in Newport News, VA,
by September 2007 and plans to open three more in Virginia.
-- Dan Marshal, a U.S. Army veteran, and his partner William Vincent,
will open up to 22 Marco's Pizzas in Atlanta.
-- Craig Mann will open Marco's Pizzas in Oklahoma.

Butorac said that Marco's is offering financial assistance for veterans to open and develop their stores, along with special finance packages that have been arranged through local banks.

Founded in 1987 in Toledo, OH, Marco's offers a menu of custom made Ah!thentic Italian Pizza, chicken wings, salads, fresh baked subs, and soft drinks with carryout, delivery and some sit down service.

Marco's currently has 155 units in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Florida, Nevada, Arizona, North Carolina with plans to be in 10 states by 2007 and 500 units by 2010.
