General Data Successfully Completes ISO 9001:2000 Recertification
Certification Validates Company's Ongoing Commitment to Quality in All
Aspects of Business
CINCINNATI, OH -- June 5, 2007 -- General Data Company, Inc. a leading
provider of specialized labeling and identification products and solutions,
today announced that it has successfully completed a full recertification
audit for ISO 9001:2000 compliance. Originally certified in 2004, General Data has been audited every
six months for the past three years, and has maintained the standards
required by International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The ISO
certification demonstrates that General Data follows a systematic,
world-standard approach to the design and manufacture of its products,
which include labeling solutions for the healthcare, automotive,
manufacturing, electronics, defense and logistics industries.
"Our current customers and the types of business opportunities that we
pursue demand ISO certification, and successfully completing ISO's
bi-annual audits and the comprehensive recertification process validates
our ongoing commitment to quality," said David Laurash, vice president of
manufacturing at General Data
Company, Inc. "The auditors had nothing but high praise for our
associates and our ISO procedures, and the complimentary tone of their
report is a testament to our quality control team and our employees who
work hard to exceed the demands of our customers."
The ISO 9001:2000 standard includes eight quality management principles:
customer-focused organization, leadership, involvement of qualified people,
process approach, systems approach to management, continual improvement,
factual approach to decision making, and mutually beneficial supplier
relationships.
In a statement released to General
Data following the recertification process, Global Registrars, Inc.
stated,
"This organization's quality management system is well documented and
functioning effectively. A significant amount of data analysis is
occurring, and more is planned as a result of the 6-sigma and lean
manufacturing efforts currently in progress. There is considerable effort
being placed on improving customer satisfaction, and improvement is being
achieved. Manufacturing employees are well trained, and this process is
clearly under good control. The internal audit process is well planned,
well executed, well documented, sufficiently staffed with internal
auditors, and effective. All operating shifts were covered during this
audit. There were no findings. It is recommended that the QMS of General Data Company be
recertified."
Laurash added, "We are focused on constantly improving customer service and
satisfaction, and the ISO certification is our baseline that we build upon
each day to deliver the products and services that will ultimately help our
customers be successful."
