Micro Imaging Technology Names Vice President Business Development

SAN CLEMENTE, CA--(Marketwire - August 7, 2007) - Micro Imaging Technology, Inc. (OTCBB: MMTC) announced that John Ricardi has been appointed Vice President Business Development.

Mr. Ricardi brings 30 years of experience in commercializing and developing sales for high-technology products and systems to his new position with MIT. He most recently served as Vice President Sensor Products at JMAR Technologies where he led the development and commercialization of the company's real-time water monitoring system since its conception and was responsible for all aspects of the Sensor business segment. From 1997 through 1999, Mr. Ricardi served as Vice President of Corporate Development for JMAR Technologies Inc. and as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing of JMAR's Precision Systems operation in Chatsworth, California. Prior to JMAR, he held senior sales and marketing positions with the Imaging Systems Division of Datron Advanced Technologies, a California-based manufacturer of advanced telecommunications products.

"John's knowledge of the water industry, coupled with his engineering background and business development experience, makes him a perfect fit to plan and execute the commercialization of our unique rapid pathogenic detection system," stated Michael Brennan, MIT's Chairman and CEO. "We are very pleased to have John on our team."

Micro Imaging Technology (MIT)

The Company's subsidiary, MIT, has developed and patented a laser-based technology for rapid microbe detection and identification. The system measures scattered light intensity as individual microbes pass through a laser beam. The intensity pattern of the scattered light is a direct consequence of the size, shape and external and internal optical characteristics of the microbe. The MIT System is non-biological and does not rely on biological agents, conventional chemical processing, fluorescent tags, gas chromatography or DNA analysis.

MIT has demonstrated the ability to detect and identify, within several minutes, the microbes Escherichia coli, Listeria, Salmonella, Staphylococcus aureus, Shigella and other pathogenic bacteria. The identification process has been verified by North American Science Associates, Inc. (NAMSA), an independent, internationally recognized biological testing laboratory. The Test Report, in the Company's opinion, demonstrated the accuracy, speed and efficiency of the MIT system over conventional processes and is available from the Company.
