World Am's Senz-It Subsidiary Chairs Interactive Mystery Outbreak Symposium At 94th Annual Meeting of the International Association for Food Protection

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Aug. 22, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- World Am, Inc.'s (OTCBB:WDAM) Senz-It, Inc. subsidiary created, scripted, and presented a mystery outbreak symposium at the recently held 94th Annual Meeting of the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) in Orlando, Florida. Senz-It was acknowledged as a special contributor of the event, which drew more than 2,100 participants from around the world.

The "Mystery Outbreak" presentation was one of the more highly attended symposiums during the four-day event. More than 250 representatives of major corporations and government agencies worldwide participated in the symposium. Active cast members in the Mystery Outbreak symposium included several Florida state and hospital agencies, two divisions of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and members of the Food and Drug Administration.

The multimedia symposium focused on a fictitious event - the Key Lime State Fair - which was suddenly the site of a mystery outbreak triggered by a foodborne illness with an unknown infectious agent. As audience role players struggled to identify the disease, the human toll escalated. In the end, there were more than 1,000 confirmed cases, approximately 500 hospitalizations, and 51 fatalities.

Attendees were asked a simple question at the end of the session: Are you prepared? The event met with such a strong positive response, Senz-It has been asked to again chair next year's sequel at the IAFP's 95th Annual Meeting to be held in Columbus, Ohio. The company is giving a version of the symposium to the association for its further use in educating responsible parties worldwide of the need for greater preparedness. One attendee, representing the Government of Holland, expressed interest in adapting the Mystery Outbreak for use in its training and development for food safety and food defense.

Following the symposium, Senz-It's Director of Business Development, Thilde Peterson, confirmed that foodborne pathogen sensors are some of the first products that Senz-It is developing.

"We are extremely pleased to have played a major role in this international meeting," said World Am Chairman & CEO Robert A. Hovee. "This represented a significant breakthrough for Senz-It in identifying its sophisticated comprehension of potential food safety problems on a worldwide basis.

"We are especially grateful to Thilde Peterson for her leadership role in chairing this landmark symposium," said Mr. Hovee.

World Am has two operating subsidiaries, Senz-It and Isotec. Senz-It represents an innovative advancement in the field of micro-sensors that have applications in Homeland Security, indoor air quality monitoring, food processing and health care. Its potential products are intended to compete in the developing field of real-time detection and notification devices, and are being designed to identify patterns of molecules present in liquid, blood and air environments for significantly less cost than current approaches.

Senz-It's sister subsidiary is Isotec, whose solutions provide "Protection, not just Detection." It develops, integrates and supplies Automated Security Portals, broadly categorized as access control, weapons control, or materials control systems that rigorously control entry or exit of people and materials into and/or out of a facility, while reducing the need for security personnel. Applications of the technology have been delivered to the commercial, retail and government sectors. Isotec's experience in this field allows it to provide high quality, code compliant, application-optimized solutions at the lowest cost in the shortest timeframe.
