will make its PAN Manager™ software available on other vendors' hardware
platforms, the company today announced Fujitsu Siemens Computers as its
first OEM partner. Fujitsu Siemens Computers plans to integrate Egenera®
PAN Manager™ software with its PRIMERGY server line as one part of its
FlexFrame Infrastructure unveiled today (see Fujitsu Siemens Computers
press release). FlexFrame Infrastructure is the next milestone towards
Fujitsu Siemens Computers' Dynamic Data Center strategy to drive
business-responsive IT using the latest virtualization and automation
technologies. Egenera PAN Manager is one core component to the new
offering, providing a new level of intelligence and virtualization
including the dynamic provisioning and management of both physical and
virtual resources.
Egenera also announced a three-year extension to its existing OEM agreement
with Fujitsu Siemens Computers, under which Fujitsu Siemens Computers sells
the Egenera® BladeFrame® product family in Europe, the Middle East and
Africa under the PRIMERGY BladeFrame brand. The renewed agreement also
includes joint development components, including the integration of Egenera
PAN Manager software with Fujitsu Siemens Computers' ServerView Suite and
the PRIMERGY BX600 blade server as part of the FlexFrame Infrastructure
product family. The two companies have been partners since 2005, amassing
major enterprise customers in more than 20 countries throughout EMEA,
including major wins in the service provider, financial services and
government sectors.
