Index Oil and Gas, Inc. Announces Election to Complete the Ducroz 1 Well in Cow Trap Prospect

HOUSTON, Nov. 13, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Index Oil and Gas, Inc. (OTCBB:IXOG) ("Index" or "the Company") today announced that the Ducroz 1 well in the Cow Trap Prospect located in Brazoria Country, Texas has reached a true vertical depth (TVD) of 6,462 feet. The spud took place on October 15, 2007.

Ducroz 1 targeted gas in stacked Miocene objectives at depths ranging from 4,900 feet to 6,400 feet. Open hole logs indicate several zones that appear gas productive. As a result, Index has elected to participate in the operations to complete the well as proposed by the operator.

Lyndon West, CEO of Index, stated, "Ducroz 1 typifies the category of relatively low-risk well that Index uses to balance risk elsewhere in our portfolio of wells. We look forward to participating in the completion operations."
