Kaltura Launches "Group Album" Facebook Application
Group Album Allows Groups of Facebook Users to Easily Create Photo and Video Albums Together, and to Complete Personal Albums With Photos and Videos Collected From Friends
| Quelle: Kaltura, Inc.
NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - December 4, 2007) - Kaltura, Inc. (www.kaltura.com), a pioneer in
Collaborative Media, announced today the launch of its "Group Album"
Facebook application. Using the application, any Facebook user can start a
group album, ask friends to add photos and videos, and remix the results
without ever leaving Facebook. Users can also decorate their photos by
drawing and writing on them before adding them to the album. Group Album is
the ultimate solution for expanding and completing graduation, trips,
events and party albums that are missing photos. This is yet another of
the many applications, partnerships, and relationships that Kaltura has
begun to put in place in order to extend its collaborative media technology
to social networking sites, and other online communities. The application
is available at http://apps.facebook.com/groupalbum.
How does it work?
Facebook users can add the Kaltura Group Album application just as they
would add any other Facebook application. Users then start a Group Album,
ask friends to add their photos, and videos and easily combine them
together with music. Users can also draw on the photos for fun, or any
other purpose. Group Albums are perfect for collecting pictures from
friends that participated in the same event, trip, or party, or for
gathering missing photos that friends had captured. For example, imagine
forgetting your camera on graduation day -- using Group Album, you can
easily collect photos from all friends that captured some of your moments.
Completed albums can be sent to friends and posted on Facebook profiles.
"Following the success of Friends' Video Card
(http://apps.facebook.com/friendsvideocard/), where we have seen tens of
thousands of group greeting cards created by Facebook users, we're excited
to follow-up with another great application that again is not only fun to
use, but also generates a lot of value for groups of friends," said Ron
Yekutiel, Chairman and CEO of Kaltura. "As part of Kaltura's overall
strategy to enable groups of users to create online rich media together in
their existing places of gathering, Facebook is a natural place for us to
leverage our technology."
