VAASA, Finland, Dec. 20, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- The Finland-based AC drives manufacturer Vacon (Pink Sheets:VCNYF) will establish a new subsidiary in the USA. The subsidiary, to be called Vacon, Inc., will be responsible for all Vacon operations in the U.S. region and will integrate TB Wood's AC drives business into the Vacon Group. Mr. Dan Isaksson has been appointed President of Vacon, Inc.

All Vacon operations in the U.S. market will be organized through the new subsidiary, including sales, marketing, technical support and after-market service, R&D, application engineering, manufacturing and administration. Vacon, Inc. will also be responsible for Vacon Group's current and future product ranges for the U.S. market.
Dan Isaksson, M.Sc. (El. Eng.), eMBA, Vice President of Corporate Development of Vacon Group, has been appointed President, Vacon, Inc. in the United States. Mr Isaksson will be responsible for Vacon, Inc. and for integrating the AC drives business of TB Wood's into Vacon Group's operations.
In his new position, Dan Isaksson will report to Heikki Hiltunen, Executive Vice President, Products and Markets, Vacon. Mr Isaksson will also be a member of the Extended Management Team of the Vacon Group.
