Los Angeles City Council to Declare April 6 - 12, 2008 "ASCAP I Create Music Week"

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - March 20, 2008) - The American Society of Composers Authors
and Publishers (ASCAP) announced today that the Los Angeles City Council
will issue a proclamation to declare the week of April 6-12, 2008 as "ASCAP
I Create Music Week" in Los Angeles, California. This special honor
recognizes a full week of activities planned by ASCAP to educate, showcase,
connect and ultimately celebrate the voice of the music creator.
"ASCAP I Create Music Week" will bring together some of the top
songwriters, composers, music publishers and industry leaders representing
a broad array of genres, mediums and musical perspectives. The week's
packed schedule includes the 13th Annual ASCAP Foundation/Disney Musical
Theatre Workshop; Stephen Schwartz Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony &
Reception; 25th Annual ASCAP Pop Music Awards honoring Steve Miller and
Lionel Richie; ASCAP's General Annual Membership Meeting; and the 3rd
Annual ASCAP "I Create Music" EXPO, a three-day national conference
dedicated to songwriting and composing, that will feature special
interviews with Jackson Browne and Steve Miller.
