Fortis publishes Annual Report and CSR Report for 2007

Fortis today publishes its Annual Report and CSR Report for 2007. The reports, which are available at www.fortis.com, are being published simultaneously in order to underscore Fortis's commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

This year's Annual Report, entitled Solid foundation, exciting perspectives, highlights three main themes that made 2007 an extraordinary year for Fortis: the strong commercial performance in banking and insurance, the impact on Fortis of the global credit crunch and the acquisition of selected activities of ABN AMRO. Fortis CEO Jean-Paul Votron discusses these developments in an in-depth interview.

The 2007 CSR Report, entitled The next step in sustainable growth, is structured around three strategic themes: sustainable supply chains, climate change and social inclusion. The report highlights the milestones Fortis achieved in 2007, such as the creation of a CSR Advisory Board, implementation of a comprehensive carbon neutrality programme, endorsement of the UN Principles for Responsible Investment and the partnership in Carbon Finance with the United Nations Development Programme.

Both the Annual Report and the CSR Report are available on the Fortis website in English, Dutch and French. The online version of the Annual Report (www.reports.fortis.com/2007) includes user-friendly functions such as cross-links, keywords, table exports, an online glossary and an interactive chart generator. The Fortis CSR website (www.fortis.com/sustainability) has been fully redesigned and now contains a complete overview of the company's CSR activities. The hard copy of the reports will be distributed mid-April. Copies can be ordered using the form on the website under 'Corporate Publications'.

Fortis announced its annual results for 2007 on 7 March 2008.
