LA County Puppy Mill Dogs Rescued; Last Chance for Animals Investigation Forces Surrender of Puppy Mill Dogs
LCA Discovered LA County Is Riddled With Puppy Mills and These Mills Are Supplying Los Angeles Pet Stores!

LANCASTER, CA--(Marketwire - May 2, 2008) - Last Chance for Animals (LCA) witnessed over
60 World Kennels puppies being released to county shelters yesterday and
today. The LCA investigation into Southern California puppy mills reported
by KCAL/KCBS reporter David Goldstein, resulted in a re-inspection of World
Kennels by the county animal control. 402 dogs were found -- three hundred
over the limit -- living outside in kennels and inside wire mesh. World
Kennels was ordered to reduce the number of animals to 100 or else be
shutdown. Over 60 of their purebred puppies have already been surrendered
with many more to come. LCA and Best Friends Animal Society are currently
assisting in the rescue of these puppies and accepting donations for the
cost of medical bills for these dogs.
Through undercover investigation, LCA discovered that LA County is riddled
with puppy mills like World Kennels, which are supplying Los Angeles pet
stores such as Posh Puppy. LCA, Best Friends, and many dedicated animal
lovers have been protesting Posh Puppy's pet stores in Beverly Hills and
Tarzana for over three months to expose the pet store-puppy mill
connection. World Kennels is one of Posh Puppy's primary suppliers,
providing puppies that they then sell for up to $4,000. LCA and Best
Friends are urging concerned citizens, animal lovers, and people interested
in adopting a pet to call LCA and county shelters if interested in
adopting.
