Patrick A. Cambier Named to First State Bank Board


SARASOTA, Fla., June 13, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- First State Bank, which operates nine branches in Sarasota and Pinellas counties, has announced the appointment of Patrick A. Cambier, MD, FACC, FACP to the board of directors.

Dr. Cambier, an executive director of the Heart & Vascular Institute of Florida the past 10 years, has helped expand the institute from 4 to 19 physicians with 170 employees in five offices located in Pinellas and Pasco counties. He has previous banking experience as an advisory board member with Prestige, and First State Florida Bank of Pinellas County.

My goal is to assist First State Bank in these endeavors, and to enhance mutual understanding and achieve success," said Dr. Cambier.

Dr. Cambier graduated from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. At Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC, Major Cambier completed his residency in internal medicine, and fellowship training in interventional coronary and peripheral vascular diseases.

Dr. Cambier served as director of the cardiac catheterization lab and cardiovascular clinical research at Madigan Army Medical Center Tacoma, Washington. He has published numerous papers for and spoken at the American College of Cardiology and American College of Physicians. Dr. Cambier received the Surgeon General's National Physician Recognition Award in 1995.

Upon completing his military obligation, he moved to Palm Harbor and joined the Heart & Vascular Institute of Florida, helping to guide this organization as an executive director over the past 10 years. In this period the practice has expanded from 4 to 19 physicians with 170 employees in five offices located in Pinellas and Pasco counties.

Dr. Cambier has served as director of peripheral vascular intervention at Morton Plant Mease Hospitals and Chairman of the Baycare Cardiac Technology Review Committee and is a local leader in bringing new stent devices and angioplasty research as well as having designed catheters in use today. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology.

Dr. Cambier is a former President of the Mease Hospital Medical Staff, Morton Plant Mease Board of Directors, and served on the Board of Prestige Bank of Palm Harbor (I/O). He currently holds a seat on the Morton Plant Mease Finance Committee, and will (re)assume a position on the Board of Directors for 2009-11.
