OKLAHOMA CITY, OK--(Marketwire - July 21, 2008) - On July 21, 2008, a class action lawsuit was filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York against Oklahoma-based SemGroup Energy Partners, L.P. (NASDAQ: SGLP). The complaint alleges that the parent company of SemGroup Energy Partners, L.P. (SemGroup, L.P.) failed to disclose its financial difficulties or high risk for financial problems associated with its risky crude oil hedge transactions by the start of the class period, and then hiding this information from investors in SGLP. The complaint alleges violations of federal securities laws, Sections 10(b) and 20(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and Rule 10b-5. The class period is for those investors who purchased common units of SGLP from February 20, 2008 through July 17, 2008.
