-- Ian Robson will lead the European Services team and comes with
significant experience in implementing and supporting global customers for
Oracle and Siebel Systems. Prior to Siebel Systems, Robson held a variety
of consulting and project management roles at PA Consulting and Touche Ross
Management Consultants.
-- Iain Gray joined the office to head the European Technical Sales group
and has led similar efforts at a number of enterprise software
organizations, including DemandTec and Blue Martini Software. Gray was most
recently at Oracle Retail where he worked closely with a number of
worldwide retailers on sophisticated analytics solutions for their
organizations.
"European manufacturers, particularly food processors, are feeling the
pinch of unpredictable input costs coupled with changes in consumer
demand," said Mike Neal, CEO and founder of SignalDemand. "These companies
are turning to SignalDemand when they find that their old approaches to
making price and product mix decisions simply fall short in this new
business climate. To answer their needs, we have built a very capable team
committed to helping European manufacturers solve their biggest
profitability challenges."
AMR Research's recent case study on SignalDemand illustrates the extent to
which companies like Cargill Meat Solutions rely on the application for
minute-by-minute decision making. On a weekly basis, SignalDemand is
generating 150,000 pricing recommendations for Cargill's beef processing
business alone. "This case study describes how SignalDemand has utterly
changed the way U.S. manufacturers -- especially those in the food industry
-- make decisions on price, product mix and production," said Steve Neat,
EMEA director of SignalDemand. "I am confident that SignalDemand will be a
transformative solution in the European market as well."
Using patent-pending econometric modeling and sophisticated pricing
algorithms, SignalDemand helps the world's largest manufacturers determine
the best pricing, supply utilization and product mix across regions,
channels and customers, even as worldwide commodities markets change in
unanticipated ways. The company's customers include global food, meat and
industrial processors.
With SignalDemand's software, companies can experience a profit improvement
of 2 to 5 percent of sales, resulting in an increase in profits of over 20
percent in most situations. Particularly notable in a down economy, these
bottom-line results are garnering attention for the company from the
financial and technology analyst communities. In May, JMP Securities named
the company to their Hot 100 list of private companies. In March of this
year, SignalDemand was the sole pricing vendor recognized by Gartner, a
leading analyst firm, as one of the "Cool Vendors in Manufacturing in
2008."
