LAWRENCE, Kan., Aug. 7, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- The Kansas Jayhawks are the latest NCAA university to select FieldTurf, as the school has tapped the Montreal-based world turf leader to install its product on two key football fields. Both installations will be full-size fields at the team's outdoor practice complex. The announcement was made today by FieldTurf Tarkett CEO Joe Fields.
Under Head Coach Mark Mangino, the Jayhawks were one of the top teams in college football in 2007, posting a 12-1 record that included a victory over Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl, the school's first win in a BCS bowl.
With its two new FieldTurf outdoor practice fields, Kansas is getting the latest technology from FieldTurf. The fields will reflect FieldTurf's state-of-the-art monofilament system, and will provide the Jayhawks with the most ultra-consistent and ultra-safe playing conditions available.
