Release of a Voting Rights announcement

On 11 August 2008, Prof. Dr-Ing. Wolfgang Thum, Germany, informed us
according to Art. 21 para. 1 WpHG (German Securities Trading Act) that his
percentage of voting rights in H&R WASAG AG, Salzbergen, Germany, ISIN:
DE0007757007, WKN: 775700, exceeded the thresholds of 3 % and 5 % of the
voting rights as of 8 August 2008 on the basis of shares and amounted to
8.07 % as of this date (equalling 2,418,750 of the voting rights).
Note:
The exceedance of the aforementioned thresholds is a result of the
conversion of the preferential shares into ordinary shares according to the
resolution passed by the General Shareholder Meeting on 24 June 2008, which
was registered in the Commercial Register on 8 August 2008, since the
preferential shares held by Prof. Dr-Ing. Wolfgang Thum were converted into
ordinary shares upon this registration.
