Change in the Executive Board and Global Reorganization at IDS Scheer

Saarbruecken, September 01, 2008

The Supervisory Board has appointed Peter Gérard as new CEO and President
of IDS Scheer AG as of September 1, 2008. He was previously member of the
IDS Scheer Supervisory Board and has many years of experience in managing
and restructuring companies. After assuming leading positions within IBM in
the U.S., he became member of the divisional board of Deutsche Bank and
consequently was appointed member of the executive board of Mannesmann and
of Karstadt Quelle. Thomas Volk, previous CEO and President, left the
company.
Market processing for ARIS software products and for consulting are being
merged so as to service clients from one source. Each of the four regions
DACH, EMEA, Americas and Asia Pacific will be managed by a responsible
Executive Board member.
The Executive Board chairman Peter Gérard is responsible for the business
in the Americas and Asia Pacific regions as well as managing the central
departments Human Resources, Corporate Development, Legal Services and
Marketing. Dr. Dirk Oevermann assumes responsibility for the DACH and EMEA
regions. Dr. Wolfram Jost remains responsible for Product Strategy,
Research and Development and also takes on Global Product Services. As CFO,
Jörg Vandreier is responsible for Finance & Controlling, internal IT and
Investor Relations.
It will be the primary task of Peter Gérard to quickly implement the new
realignment of IDS Scheer and to bring the company’s profitability back
into the 2-digit margin range.
The international organization is to focus on bundling resources and
strengthening the sale of ARIS licenses. This involves reducing hierarchy
levels, a stronger focus on industries and streamlining internal processes.
As a result, drastic measures in the international organization will be
implemented and realized in order to increase profits.
Dr. August-Wilhelm Scheer, founder and Chairman of the IDS Scheer AG
comments:
'I am convinced that the strongest restructuring in the company’s history
means that IDS Scheer will take advantage of its global market
opportunities to optimize the business processes of its customers in an
even more effective way and continue its path as one of the most effective
German IT companies.'
Helmut Mader, Managing Director of Mader Capital Resources GmbH, founded in
1999, was appointed as new member of the Supervisory Board. He was
previously member of the divisional board at Deutsche Bank as well as a
member of the Deutsche Börse AG supervisory board and has many years of
experience on the international capital market.
The Executive Board of IDS Scheer confirms its annual guidance according to
which revenues are to amount to at least €400 million for the fiscal year
2008 (at constant currency rates). For the operating result, an EBITA
margin in the range of 8% to 9% for the whole year is expected.
