Sika strengthens construction chemicals business in Canada


Sika AG acquires Cappar Ltd. based in Ontario, Canada. With the acquisition Sika expands its presence in the polymer flooring, specialty lining and coatings market in Canada. In addition, Cappar will strengthen Sika's technology offering in specialty epoxy resin applications such as structural crack repairs, waterproofing and polymer concrete compositions. Cappar will be integrated into Sika Canada's Business Unit structure.
 
Cappar was founded in 1974 and built its business around specialty injection systems and innovative formulations for the polymer flooring and lining market. Since its beginning, Cappar has been renowned for its formulation capabilities and innovative solutions for the construction industry with a wide range of resin based restoration and protection products.
 
Cappar achieves sales of about CHF 4 mn annually. The parties have agreed not to disclose the sales price.
