Front Row and Other Premium Seats Raised $85,000 in Support of June 2008 Midwest Flood Victims
Ticketmaster Waived Fees, Coordinated Auction
WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Sept. 25, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- TOM PETTY & THE HEARTBREAKERS donated coveted tickets to their sold-out summer tour in a special auction to raise money that will specifically help support Habitat for Humanity affiliates in areas affected by the June 2008 Midwest floods. The band played in many of the cities in areas affected by the floods and raised more than $85,000 for Habitat For Humanity flood relief. The band offered up front row and other premium seats with all proceeds from the auction, including face value of the tickets, going to Habitat For Humanity's Midwest flood relief efforts. Ticketmaster (Nasdaq:TKTM), waiving its fees associated with these tickets, coordinated the entire auction for the band. All money raised goes to Habitat for Humanity, an organization dedicated to helping low-income families obtain simple, decent and affordable housing.
Following their Super Bowl XLII Halftime Show Performance, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers toured May through August throughout the United States and Canada. The tour included many shows in the Midwest and the band wanted to give back to this region and do something to help.
