About the Author
Richard M. Silverstein was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended Temple University, obtained an ROTC commission in the United States Army and served as a Transportation Officer during the Korean War where he was severely injured. He relocated to Southern California establishing a Financial Advisory Firm and was named the National Certified Financial Planner of the Year in 1983. Time Magazine listed him as one of the most successful financial advisors in his field. As a volunteer, he served on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Lung Association and the American Head Trauma Alliance, conducting Financial Planning Seminars for both charities. Wanting to be closer to his grandchildren, he moved to Aurora, Colorado where he lives with his wife Linda and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Sassy. Most chapters relating to the work and travel of Robert Matteo are based upon the author's personal experience.
