LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - November 26, 2008) - Thanksgiving travelers will be able to hold on to more of their money this weekend as they head out on the road after yet another week of incredible gas price drops, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California's Weekend Gas Watch.
The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in the Los Angeles-Long Beach area is $2.109 per gallon, which is 21.8 cents less than last week, $1.06 lower than last month, and $1.29 under last year. In San Diego, the price is $2.052, which is 21.3 cents under last week's price, $1.06 below last month, and $1.36 lower than last year. "Gas prices have never come down by more than a dollar in a one-month period, so this should bring good cheer to travelers this holiday weekend," said Auto Club spokesperson Jeffrey Spring. "The last time Thanksgiving travelers paid less than this for gas was in 2003, when Los Angeles gas prices averaged $1.73."
