WHAT: The Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame, which honors sports TV industry innovators and leaders, will be inducting its 2008 class on December 16 at the New York Hilton.
WHO: This year's class includes: Marvin Bader (ABC Olympics), Chet Forte (ABC Sports), Curt Gowdy (ABC, CBS, and NBC), Teddy Nathanson (director, NBC Sports), Don Ohlmeyer (ABC and NBC), Val Pinchbeck (NFL), Vin Scully (L.A. Dodgers), Bob Seiderman (CBS and Fox Sports), and Charlie Steinberg (Ampex and Sony). The ceremony will be hosted by Jim Nantz, CBS Sports lead play-by-play announcer.
The 2008 honorees will join last year's inaugural Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame class: Roone Arledge, Julius Barnathan, Frank Chirkinian, Howard Cosell, Harry Coyle, Jim McKay, Pete Rozelle, Ed Sabol, Tom Shelburne, Larry Thorpe, and George Wensel.
More than 80 industry leaders from national broadcast networks, cable sports networks, leagues, teams, and related organizations participated in the selection process this past summer.
