Weil Gotshal Elects Seven to Partnership

New Partner Group Reflects Broad Practice and Geographic Diversity


NEW YORK, Dec. 2, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP has elected seven new partners, it was announced today. The firm currently has more than 300 partners in 20 offices worldwide. The appointments become effective January 1, 2009. The composition of the new partnership class reflects the firm's global platform and extensive portfolio of leading practices, and is drawn from both Europe and the United States, and from multiple practice areas within the firm. At the same time, the firm appointed six attorneys as counsel.

Of the new partners, four are from Europe and three from the U.S. Two are women, and one is entering as a flex-time partner, an enthusiastically-received designation the firm introduced in 2007.
