"Smashing Time" Crushes Beer Pong Competition and Takes Home $50,000 Grand Prize at The World Series of Beer Pong(TM) IV

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - January 7, 2009) - This past weekend BPONG.COM™ and the World Series of Beer Pong™ welcomed over 400 competitive Beer Pong teams from the United States and Canada to the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas, where they proudly presented The World Series of Beer Pong IV.

After 2,675 games, Ron Hamilton and Michael Popielarski from New York's "Smashing Time" came out on top, dominating the competition to win the grand prize of $50,000. "Smashing Time was definitely one of the most competitive and experienced teams competing in this tournament," said, Billy Gaines, co-founder of The World Series of Beer Pong. "Smashing Time is a household name in the sport of Beer Pong, having been featured on ESPN and Time magazine."

The World Series of Beer Pong IV was held, January 1-5, 2009 at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Smashing Time ended their tournament series with an 18-3 record. The final game kicked off with veteran UFC ring announcer Bruce Buffer announcing the final two teams; "Getcha Popcorn Ready" versus Smashing Time who took the victory in the second game of the match making them the undisputed world champions and sending them home with the grand prize, $50,000. Other celebrities in attendance at the event were co-hosts Starr Spangler and Dallas Imbimbo of "The Amazing Race."
