Franklin's Escala Mine Joint-Venture On Schedule to Record Revenue, Quarter I 2009

Tunnel Extension Reaches Aguilar Vein

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 13, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Franklin Mining, Inc. (Pink Sheets:FMNJ) (Frankfurt:FMJ) directors met in San Antonio, TX on January 8, 2009 and approved recommendations made by Paul Baker, International Mining Consultant, La Paz, Bolivia. As previously announced, Mr. Baker's assessment is that 2008 pre-production development at the Escala Mine Joint-Venture resulted in three excellent cross cut haulage tunnels. Of these, the Anita, intersects the historic Aguilar Vein -- long recognized for prolific production.

Trucks are available and will begin transporting more than 1,000 tons of ore mined and removed as tunnels are being extended. Until the Escala's processing plant is fully operational, processing will be done by plants in the area. Previous samplings have shown this material holds 3% Zinc, 2.5% Lead and 300 grams of Silver per ton.
