Official Fan Ticket Exchange is First-Ever for the Super Bowl
NFL-Ticketmaster Partnership Enables Fans to Buy and Sell Super Bowl Tickets On Official Site
NEW YORK and WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Jan. 15, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The National Football League (NFL) and Ticketmaster today announced the launch of the Official Ticket Exchange of the NFL on NFL.com and Ticketmaster.com for Super Bowl XLIII. The Official Ticket Exchange of the NFL is the latest fan-friendly platform from Ticketmaster deployed by the NFL.The service enables fans for the first time to buy and resell Super Bowl tickets through a convenient, league-endorsed website.
Super Bowl XLIII will be played on February 1, 2009, at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, Fla.
Powered by Ticketmaster, the Official Ticket Exchange of the NFL on NFL.com enables fans to buy and sell tickets for Super Bowl XLIII through the company's TicketsNow platform. Fans who have tickets but are unable to attend the game in Florida now have a proven channel to sell their tickets to other fans looking to buy or upgrade their seats. The service provides fans the opportunity to find and buy tickets in a secure environment, in many cases with the ability to electronically validate tickets at the time of purchase.
During Super Bowl week in Tampa, a retail location for the Official Ticket Exchange of the NFL will be open in the Channelside Bay Mall, 615 Channelside Drive, Suite 115, and is the only official NFL Ticket Exchange retail outlet authorized in Tampa. At the retail location, fans are assured they are receiving authentic tickets to the Super Bowl through the use of the League's exclusive electronic validation technology.
"We are pleased to offer for the first time our fans this safe and reliable service," said Eric Grubman, the NFL's Executive Vice President and President of NFL Ventures. "The Super Bowl is unlike any other event and we're looking forward to working with Ticketmaster to make our fans' experience even better."
"We are committed to provide fans with the most options possible to get tickets to their favorite events, always in a safe and secure environment" said Eric Korman, President, Ticketmaster. "Powering the Official Ticket Exchange of the Super Bowl, is another great example of that commitment.
