SCORE! Introduces New After School Learning Programs Based on a Blended Learning Model

For the First Time Kids Nationwide Can Access the SCORE! Curriculum Online

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - January 21, 2009) - Students looking to catch up with their school work, keep up, or get ahead now have an engaging and affordable new option. SCORE! Educational Centers, the after-school learning provider known for its fun, motivating approach, is introducing a series of programs based on a blended learning model that integrates in-center tutoring and online sessions. They're designed for the multimedia, multitasking generation.

SCORE! is offering the new programs through its nearly 80 centers and, for the first time, kids across the country in Kindergarten through 9th grade can access the curriculum via the Web. For the past 17 years SCORE! has helped more than 450,000 children improve their reading, math, and writing skills in a fun environment.

"We've always focused on motivating kids in the way they work best. Over time as new technologies have evolved so have our programs," said Justin Serrano, president of SCORE!.

Using SCORE!'s new Smart Track system, tutors assess students, see how they're progressing and adapt the curriculum according to each child's needs. Parents can also log on and review real-time progress reports. The new programs, which start at $29/month, are:

-- Premier: In-depth sessions led by tutors with bachelor's degrees (many
also have their master's in education) yield an average improvement of 1.5
grade levels in 45 hours of instruction

-- Online Plus Tutoring: An option which offers unlimited online access
to math and reading and two to four in-center tutoring sessions each month

-- Online only: More than 1,000 hours of reading and math instruction
    delivered anytime, anywhere

As children's schedules, circumstances and needs change, parents can switch their program without disrupting progress.

Additionally, SCORE! has a new partnership with Upromise, the popular rewards network, which will help parents earn college savings when buying SCORE! programs.

"We're committed to keeping the options affordable and flexible -- especially in this economic climate," said Mr. Serrano.
