Wolf Greenfield Promotes Michael Rader to Shareholder

Boston Intellectual Property Law Firm Names 30th Shareholder


BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - February 3, 2009) - Wolf, Greenfield & Sacks, P.C., the largest law firm in New England devoted exclusively to intellectual property law, has named Michael N. Rader of Brookline a shareholder.

Rader represents a variety of companies in patent litigation around the country, in industries ranging from sporting goods to medical devices, coffee brewing equipment, and digital camera technology. He also counsels clients on IP strategy, product clearance, opinions, and transactions.

In 2008, Rader was part of the legal team that won a $17 million patent-infringement settlement from Kraft for Wolf Greenfield's client Keurig Inc., a maker of coffee-brewing equipment. He also co-anchored the Wolf Greenfield trial team that won Massachusetts' largest patent infringement jury verdict in 2007, for medical device manufacturer Diomed, Inc.

In pro bono matters, Rader won a significant First Amendment case (Kohn v. Massachusetts Department of Education) as a cooperating attorney with the ACLU. He also handles a variety of pro bono matters on behalf of clients referred to him through the Volunteer Lawyers Project of the Boston Bar Association.

Rader has been named a Massachusetts Super Lawyer "Rising Star" by Law & Politics magazine. He earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Brown University and his law degree from Harvard Law School.
