Livescribe to Award Over $10K in Scholarships and Pulse Smartpens to College Students
Winners Will Be Selected Based on Their 140-Character Statement on Facebook
| Quelle: Livescribe Inc.
OAKLAND, CA--(Marketwire - April 13, 2009) - Livescribe Inc. (www.livescribe.com) is
offering an easy and fun way for students to win over $10,000 in
scholarships and Pulse smartpens with a Facebook application called "Where
are you going to college?"
The "Where are you going to college?" application is an interactive map
that allows Facebook users to see who is going to their college, and what
schools their friends are going to. Students can apply for the scholarship
by putting their college on the map and writing a 140-character statement
on how they will make their mark in college. Students can submit their
witty story or personal aspiration for a chance to win a college
scholarship and Pulse smartpen at: www.livescribe.com/mapyourcollege.
In addition, the college with the most students on the map will win a
campus giveaway of up to 200 Pulse smartpens from Livescribe.
The Pulse smartpen is a computer in a pen that captures notes and
simultaneously records and links the audio to the notes. College students
can record their professor's lecture while taking notes in class, and tap
on their notes to play back what the professor said at the exact moment in
time. Over 30 percent of Pulse smartpen owners are college students who
frequently use their Pulse to take class notes and to review their notes
and recordings for mid-terms and finals.
"My Pulse smartpen has been invaluable to me in my classes, particularly my
pre-med classes, where I need to take very detailed and accurate notes,"
said Kal Shah, a junior at University of California, Berkeley. "With my
Pulse smartpen, I can pay more attention to what my professor is actually
saying rather than scribbling down every single word. It's also awesome to
use when I'm studying for tests."
