BrainTrack Announces Twice Yearly Teaching Scholarships
Will Help Prospective K-12 Teachers Learn From Current Teaching Students
| Quelle: BrainTrack
MARLBOROUGH, MA--(Marketwire - August 11, 2009) - BrainTrack, the widely referenced
higher-education resource, today announced The BrainTrack Teaching Scholarship, a biannual
scholarship for students currently studying to teach in any grade from
kindergarten to 12th. Designed to help others evaluate teaching as a
career, BrainTrack's scholarship will provide a $1,000 first place and $500
runner up award for the best essays about an entrant's experiences as a
teaching student. BrainTrack Teaching Scholarship rules and entry form are
available at: http://www.braintrack.com/colleges-by-career/elementary-school-teachers#scholarship.
BrainTrack's scholarship will help teaching students fund their education
and at the same time help those considering teaching as a career path.
Winners will be selected based on the creativity, focus, overall
thoughtfulness, accuracy and practical value of their responses to the
essay questions. The questions ask students about how they chose teaching,
their experiences as a teaching student, and their suggestions for
prospective teachers. The most helpful essays from all the entries will be
published online for the benefit of prospective teachers. The judging
committee will include both independent teaching professionals as well as
BrainTrack staff.
Applicants must be currently taking classes in an appropriate teaching
degree program. Studies can be full-time, part-time, on-campus, or online
and must be at an accredited U.S. college. There are no fees for entry and
all entrant names and contact information will be kept private for use only
in the scholarship, except for the winners whose names will be published.
The next two submission deadlines are November 1, 2009 and March 1, 2010.
